Hello,
Service provider: A company that provides a servie to a point of delivery.
POD:It is the point to which a utility service is supplied.
This point tells about the information about the service supplied.
we can say like this,
A point between Generation and to the Transmission Grid
It is the point differentiates between different transmission grids.
A pod plays two roles:
1.Elecronic Data communication during automatic data exchange.here the applicable role is Deregulation POD role.The exhange of consumption information between a distribution company and a supplier.
2.An AMR system which is used in EDM uses the POD ID to send information on the measured load shape to isu EDM component.This role is Technical POD role.
