Hello Gurus, need your help

When updating EK01 with main 0100-consumption billing, 200-Final billing, the following message appears.

"Com.Code, division and Acc determ key needed for billing transactions."

1) Added main/ sub transactions

2) Updated "Maintain Attributes for Company code and Divisions" with CC, Division (both with/without), main, sub, Debit/Credit, Manual Posting allowed is unchecked.

Thanks,

Aravind

Hi Aravind.

For billing transactions you need to have a division. Did you already define division and try entering it in EK01? If you did that, and still get that error, a screenshot would help to check whats happening.

Hi Marko,

Thanks for the reply, Divisions are added but not populating in EK01, could you please tell me how to add/populate them in EK01.

Thanks,

Aravind

Hi Aravind.

Since you said divisions are created, then:

- make sure theyre assigned to the company code here: IMG - SAP Utilities – Basic settings/Company structure – Assign company code to division

- make sure divisions are assigned to division categories: IMG - SAP Utilities – Basic settings/Company structure – Assign division to division categories

Marko,

Divisions are assigned to company code and divisions are assigned to categories also.

Do you have the option to add them on the screen? If not, go to "Goto - Select Keys" and check it there.

If that isnt the case, can you please send the screenshot?

Thanks for your help, I am able to add them, system is not allowing to add 100 w/o a division.

I have one more question, I am using main/sub 600/0010 for payments, do you know what Internal main/sub needs to used for mapping them in "Maintain Attributes section". please see the below screenshots

Hi Aravind.

System is not letting you add them without division, because transaction 0100 (and 0200) can not be entered without a division. They are billing transactions and they need division.

You said you defined the division(s) you need in the above steps. You then also need to define them first in IMG - Financial Accounting(new) - Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable - Basic Functions - Postings and Documents - Document - Maintain Document Assignments - Maintain Transactions for IS-U, and then subsequentialy in EK01 and EK02 (posting areas R000 and R001).

Regarding your other question: internal transactions are used by SAP and are related to the process steps (define how specific programs run). By using external transactions and not specifying internal ones you can still define posting rules (by defining the posting specifications in the above mentioned IMG path, and by defining G/L accounts in EK01 and EK02). Im not sure what you mean by transactions for payments, since if its a payment that the system can identify then it will clear an open item, and if its not, it can, for example be a posting on account, which can then be handled by Main Transaction 0060.
