Considering there is an commercial building having 5 shops. In this case, all 5 shops will have the same connection object. Considering that 3 shops are owned by Brand A, and 2 shops by Brand B, will that mean 2 premises or 5 premises in total?

Hi,
Each shop will be a premise, so that it will be 5 premises in total. If it is only Electricity each premise will then have one installation and here the customer moves in, which will create a contract.
Customer A will then have 3 contracts and customer B will have 2 contracts (which can have the same contract account so that they can be invoiced together and customer will get one bill for all shops he owned).

Hello

In that case, contract and premise will always have a one-to-one mapping?

No, installation and contract have always a one-to-one mapping. A premise could have several installations depending on the used division (like Gas or Electricity).
This is the absolut basic knowledge which is needed in the IS-U. I can just recommend to have a look into our help portal:

Here you will also find a graphic how the master data are linked with each other:

Considering that a house has two electricity installations. Its one premise assigned to two contracts right?

In case the owner sells out the first floor of that house, will it still be one premise-two contracts or two premises-two contracts?

This depends on your needs and business requirements if it should be one premise or two. Both options are possible.
