Hi,

I am trying to add views using MM02. It is showing me just 5 views ...BASIC DATA1, BASIC DATA2 etc..... I want to add other views eg, Quality Management but am not able to do it.

I tired doing the following:

Go to mm01

- Enter the material for which you want to add the views.

- Then you enter the same material in copy from material

- Then you may find all the view

- Then select the views you want to add and make entries in the same view and save it

Are the view material specific?

Thanks,

Shelina

Views are based on the material type and so depending on the material type of your material, you can create certain views for a material.

If a view is allowed for a material type, you have to create the view using MM01, not MM02 even if it is an existing material. This is called extending the material as opposed to changing the material.

Yes,

I did try it using MM01, but it still when is click select views it does not give me all the options.

That is because the material type of the material you are trying to extend doesn't allow you to do that.

Go to SPRO and follow the path

SAP Customizing Implementation Guide
-->Logistics - General
    -->Configuring the Material Master
        -->Basic Settings
            -->Material Types
                -->Define Attributes of Material Types

If you pick the material type of the material that you are trying to extend, you will find the views that are allowed under "User Departments".

Hi,

Use T.CODE to extend material views

select ur material and extend ur views

MM02 is only to change the field contents.

if u dont have the specified views in MM02 Then go to T.code OMS2 slect the view u required and save it

then u go to MM50.

It solves ur problem.

So now, can i change a material type for a specfic material or i have to mark it for deletion. In that case can i use the same name for the new one with the correct material type.

Thanks.
