Hi All,

We have a requirement to accommodate a custom attribute to be passed while replication from CRM to IS-U for contact creation. Existing MDT is in released status . I think we cannot make changes in the released MDT , so what could be the possible solution to accommodate the new parameters in MDT.

Regards,

Manjeet.

Hi Manjeet,

As soon as status F (released) is set for a Master Data Template it's no longer changeable and even the status couldn't be changed back to A (Active).
In this case it's assumed that the MDT is well tested and already used in productive environment, for e.g. contracts are already created by using this MDT which also creates facts. When now such a MDT is changed the values stored for the contracts will no longer fit the actual one and this could lead to problems when contracts are reversed or billed.

A possible way is to copy the MDT and to adapt / change values in new MDT. This one could than be used instead of the old one by setting status O (obsolete) to the old one and assigning the product to the new one.

The F1-Help of the "Activation status" field in MDT Header contains also a detailed documentation about it.

Best regards,
Katrin
