Hi All,
can anybody explain what is the link between business partner role and category...?
How can we link many business partners like (REM business partner and ISU business partner ) to one customer..
Here we are already creating customer with the ISU busines partner...
This customer will be linked to the REM busines partner..

Though I did not get your Q properly, I'd try to answer as per the understanding....
BP Category is something related to business where you categorize the BP....
Where are BP Role is something related to authorization...BP roles are defined on the basis of a business process.

A business partner role corresponds to a business context in which a business partner can appear. For example: contact person, prospect or contract partner.
Business partner category is the term used to classify a business partner as a natural person, group or organization. It is not possible to create any other business partner categories.
The business partner type controls which fields on the business partner master record are mandatory, hidden, displayed, or optional for the creation of a BP. You can create several business partner types to group business partners.

Hi,,
I believe SAP is trying to centralize the BP across system. By adding "roles" the same BP can be used in different modules.
For eg: if a BP does not have the role MKK it cannot be used in ISU.
Th BP category is used mostly for the Naming prefix. Check table BUT000

Hi,
as said before, the roles are used to be able to use the BP in different areas. E.g. in CRM - while you still just have the contact data, but sold no product so far --> would be prospective customer but as sson as you sell something it could change to MKK -> without storing alot of new data to the BP.
The category is rather used to categorize a certain type : huge customer, VIP, ... so independently you might want to treat this BP more carefully... There are also some customer projects whic use this field so IS-U is used like a small CRM system (no CRM needed) e.g. to write offers or mails, store customer cards, ...
