Bonds and insurance implementation

Hi Folks,

I am working for a Telecom Client. Can you please let me know if we can implement contracts for bonds and insurance in FI-CA. The business has to make the payments for the bonds and insurance as per the invoices. Basically the implementation is for contract payables. Please let me know if contracts for bonds and insurances can be implemented in FI-CA or is there any other module that best supports the functionality.

Thanks in advance

Santosh

Are you working in a project in Texas with Medaboina?

In FICA there are some new functionalist:

Billing in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/86/02c7a0b46349119218e6f8b28fc7b2/frameset.htm

Invoicing in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/43/1be272fb002be8e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm

These modules allow to do billing and invoicing in FICA in a stand alone FICA system. Maybe you can use these module to invoice your permits, licenses, bonds and insurances.

FICA is open management system, as long as you invoice you can then collect or pay.

You can use FS-CD module for bonds and inssurances, but you're talking about a telecom company so it look a little strange???

Adriano.

Hi Alice,

I am working with Medaboina. The bonds and insurances are managed as contracts in our company. The payments are made to this contracts. Can we use the installment plan in FI-CA for payments. Can you explain me in detail how invoicing would work while making payments.

Thanks

Santosh

Hi again,

Will you have also SAP-CRM in you system? Can you use CRM billing for invoicing of the bonds or insurance contracts? CRM billing can be integrated with FICA, I've already seen it in a leasing project where leasing contracts were created in CRM billing, invoiced in CRM billing and collected in FICA, it works.

Another possibility would be to do it in SD, you know that you can do integration between SD and FICA, you can create you bonds/ insurance contracts in SD, invoice them in SD and then post them to FICA and do all the payments or collection is FICA.

If you have any SD expert in your project check if you can use SD contracts to pay also, here in my project we use these contracts to bill services like "home care", new installations, etc. to the utility customers.

Cheers,

Adriano.

PS: Alice is not my real name, it's only a nick name, my name is Adriano.

Hi Adriano,

We don't have a CRM system and is it possible to use SD for vendor bonds and contracts since we are making payments to vendors.

Thanks
