Hi Experts,
Our client requirement is to bill both type of accounts (Residential - billed using non interval meter reading and Commercial/Industral - billed using interval meter reading) in the same box.
So my question is that Is it possible to bill residential customers in the same box where commercial and industrial customers are billed using RTP interface without using synthetic/load profile to convert the consumption of residential customers to interval data using usage factor?
Please let me know as early as possible as we need to provide soln based on that.

Gunjan

Hi Gunjan,
I am assuming 'box' means the same RATE (not Rate Category).
You cannot bill interval and non interval in the same Rate directly, as the Rates have permissibility defined accordingly.
Also Synthetic Profile is not used for billing but for forecasting and settlement.
I guess you would have give more details on what you intend to do.

Hi Rakesh,
Thanks for your answer. I meant to say the same box means same system/server.
I guess I got my first answer as we can able to bill both residential and commercial customers with different rate structure. One is with register permissible rate and other is based on RTP interface right?
But May be our client want to bill the residential customer with RTP interface only so they can move the customer from normal meter to AMI meter in future and bill the customers based on spot pricing.
Can you please let me know how can I use load profile to meet my client's requirement as they wated to bill the residential customers with interval data.

Gunjan

Hi Gunjan,
1. Yes. Rate permissibility would differ.
2. Would suggest to with Register permissible rates for now. Reason : Development and testing of custom solution for billing via load profile would take time. If you can convert the meter readings into profiles manually then you can go for RTP.
Also RTP Interface (falls in EDM) and billing through TOU Interface (falls in AMI) are different.
Hope this helps.
