Hi Gurus,

One of our client is having CRM 2007 and wants to test the AMI functionality in Interaction Center Web Client

in CRM 2007.

Do we have AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure)/ Smart meter functionality in CRM 2007 ?

To what extend the difference is from 2007 and 7.0 ?

Is there any Support Package to Update from CRM 2007 so that to get the AMI/Smart metering Relevant Functionality.

Any help/information in this regards will be appreciated,

Thanks,

Sorry about the delay; someone just pointed this thread out to me.

All new functionality to support call center scenarios for AMI are delivered only with IC Web and CRM 7.0.

Hi Bui,

Thanks alot for your response.I have some further doubts in this regards,

Actually, I am just trying to figure out what maximum functionality we can get if we have

integrated SAP ISU 2005 Ehp4 with CRM 2007. What functionality we will get in this scenario.

Would the AMI behave as the Manual devices?

All the Standadt ISU functionality like connection/disonnection and move-in/move-out would be available ?

Customer having CRM 2007 wishing to implement AMI need to Upgrade to CRM 7.0. Is thats really the only way...?

Why SAP offers no SP for CRM 2007 to get AMI functionlity.

Thanks,

It depends on what customer wants. EpH4 with CRM7.0 has functionalities such as on-demand meter reading, disconnect/reconnect and device detail view (which will help service agent to view device's AMI capabilities). SAP has delivered web services for on-demand meter reading to MDUS system. There is no web services available for disconnect/reconnect.

CRM 7.0 for utilities has structured utility contract approach, this will ease the pain that customers going through during contract modifications.

CRM 7.0 has more AMI features than CRM 2007.

Usman,

Though smart meter has automated meter reading capability, It is still possible make it to work as a dumb meter. Purpose of AMI enablement is to reduce field visits. So if your system does not integrate with MDUS system then you can create device with AMI and choose capability as manual read.

From functional prospective, Move-in/Move-out, periodic meter reading, on-demand meter reading and Asset sync of technical data to MDUS system works fine.

Disconnection/re-connection can be triggered from CRM or from ISU but there is no web-services available now to reach out MDUS system.

If you are implementing Ehp4 then you need to upgrade to CRM 7.0, otherwise functions like on-demand read, device detail, disconnect/reconnect etc will not work.

For CRM 2007, SAP has offered few functionality in earlier enhancement pack, I believe it was Ehp2.

Thanks,

Shaji

Hi Chris, I am working on SAP PI for IS-U AMI services could you please let me know if SAP provides any document for configuring these pre delivered content scenarios out of the box? I downloaded ESR content but that only gives the data type which means we need to do the rest of the configuration manually?
