Activity Reason- Technical installation/removal/replacement

All,

The requirement is to make the activity reason field mandatory in the transactions EG33,EG30 and EG36.

Kindly confirm if this can be achieved via IMG configuration.If so,please provide the menu path.

How are you?? You can try with T-Code 'SHD0'. Here you can make values in the fields -Optional, mandatory, suppressed etc

You need to create a variant for it

Thanks a lot for your response.I was wondering if there is like a "define field selection..." configuration for this.I have an Exit too to check during save if the above field was blank ,and prompt an entry.

Hi,

SHD0 will work ONLY when using transactions !!! As soon as you use BOR Objects and methods, DARK installation OR the master data generator (which is very common when also using IC-Webclient) this will not work. I'd rather suggest to use the provided user exits in EDMDI001 or EDMDI002! There you could also provide default values... and those exits are passed usually when using bor methods as well.

EDMD1001 (user-defined default values for installation, removal and replacement)

This enhancement allows you to define default data for input parameters.

The field settings for reasons for activity are activity driven transactions.check out with the above enhancement.

If u dont want to mention tis field activity reason. just try at out the custimazation level mention ur user activety reason and dont select any one check boxes.
