The video demonstrates the process efficiences that an asset maintenance worker can gain by using an SAP enterprise asset management system that is natively geo-enabled to allow for map-based process execution. The underlying data set is a seamless integration of business data with process relevant GIS data.
Up until now, GIS integration was achieved using bi-directional synchronization at the master data level. The new gold standard SAP is bringing to market brings business process relevant data from the GIS environment natively into the SAP business system landscape and more importantly allows for the extension of tables for any data object, master or transactional, with location attributes.
Map-based business processes and location-based analytics on an integrated data set is now available to SAP business system users and mobile field workers. GIS engineering professionals can access the same integrated data sets via easy to consume REST services.
