The power industry is at a turning point in its journey towards decarbonisation and greater electrification. Managing the complexities of more renewable energy resources (RES) and distributed energy resources (DERs) connecting to existing medium- and low-voltage electricity grids necessitates enabling technologies and digitalisation that ensure supply continues to meet demand – and vice-versa – effectively and flexibly.
Digital technologies are game-changing for the power industry, presenting immense opportunities of increased efficiencies, improved maintenance, and better use of electricity. On the flip side, there are risks and challenges facing this digital transformation such as high costs, cyber threats, and market uncertainties. Yet resilient and modern grid networks are central to achieving Europe’s net-zero emission objectives.
Let’s take the opportunity to come together and discuss in a peer-to-peer format how the industry can leverage digital tools and flexibilities to secure stable flows of electricity from clean sources of energy in Europe.
We are delighted to announce that SAP is the host of the next Eurelectric Digitopia Hub meeting:
Thursday | 10 April 2025 | Day 3 of SAP for Energy and Utilities Conference
Rotterdam Ahoy | Ahoyweg 10, 3084 BD Rotterdam, Netherlands
Join us at the Digitopia Hub, where Eurelectric is thrilled to present its latest study “Redefining Energy Security in the Age of Electricity” (you can access here) with two practical case studies on grid resilience and cyber resilient virtual power plants (VPPs). The current president of Eurelectric – E.ON – will also share its insights from its recent Energy Playbook on the role of digitalisation and flexibility in optimising grid investments.
SAP will also invite attendees to immerse themselves at the SAP Pop-Up Campus part of the Conference, where participants can experience an environment featuring a massive 180° LED screen that brings complex concepts and solutions to life with stunning clarity and impact. We will deep dive into “The Future of Distributed Energy Generation: Take a look into S.ENERGY in 2028 and discover how they will serve their customers after a successful SAP S/4HANA Utilities and DER platform implementation”
The Digitopia Hub meeting is open to all interested attendees of the SAP for Energy and Utilities Conference as well as members of Eurelectric. If you and/or a representative of your company would like to participate, please send an email to Augustin Chabrol at by 4 April.
We look forward to welcoming you in Rotterdam.
Let’s shape a resilient, affordable, and decarbonised future together!
