Hi All,
I have some specific questions, we are about to implement IS Retail by converting our current ECC6 system to a retail instance.
Does anyone know what impact that will have on our non retail processes? eg Materials, BOMs, Projects, Plants etc..
thanks

Hi,
In that case, you are no longer would be able to use Material Ledger and MRP.
And once it is done you can't reverse.

We have a Retail and still using the MRP...
I think the most biggest changes comes from article master and SD module MM module is almost as standard, (LE comes with few changes).

Hi Shashi,
I am not sure if you got your answers already.
If not please take a note of following.
Fundamental difference between Standard R/3 and IS Retail is Material creation and maintenance.
Merchandise Category(Material Group) is a must to create article in Retail. Old articles you cannot edit using MM42 transaction since it was created via MM01. Bill of materials will remain functional however if you need to make it work in Retail business processes such as POS inbound / outbound, you may have to configure structured articles configurations for specific application areas.
Plant has more functionalities and configurations compared to Standard R/3. Also you need to have reference sites (Store and Distribution Center) to start with Retail. This controls various business processes including master data creation.
Additional functionalities such as Material Assortment Planning,Store replenishment, Article Hierarchy, Store Promotions, Markdown planning etc are plus points of Retail.
Once you switch to Retail instance, you cannot revert the system definition back to what it was.
In short, you will have to iterate the migration in a Sandbox to understand more issues specific to your system.
Hope I could throw some light.
Cheers

Thanks all for your contributions, I may need to follow up after our sandpit has been switched to a Retail instance.
