Update Profile

Former Member

Dear experts,

I need to do a parameterization in which purchase orders must be updated in the payment budget. Now its in the 000350, but I wonder if I can change to another.

I saw the 000202, but I guess it changes the behavior of the commitment budget updating that must remain as it is today.

What are the consequences of changing the parameterization of the 000202 update profile for the commitment budget?

Is there any standard parameterization in which I can update (with funds check) the payment budget from the purchase order and the commitment budget from the Purchase requisition?

Thanks,

Gustavo.

Hi,

Technically, it's possible. You can change FMUP01 parameters and make PO consume payment budget. Actually, there is one profile which does it (000351), which was developed for Colombia. I'm not aware of 000202 profile, as it's not in my system; it should be again some specific profile which exists for localization. Of course, after changing these parameters you should test the full budget cycle completely (including year-end procdeures) to make sure that the outcome meets your requirements.

Eli

Hello Eli,

Thanks for the answer.

But do you know a way in which I can change FMUP01 parameterization somehow? I checked and there is no SM30 for it. If I could change FMUP01 for 000350, it would be great!

The 000202 is a new update profile and I belive it comes with EHP5. It has similar charachteristics to 000200, but the first one have more value types updatings avaliable than this last one. But I couldn`t understand and I coudn`t test yet what help SAP means with "Commitment budget: one for all fiscall years" and "Payment budget: Separately for each fiscal year". I am afraid that opting for the 000202, I would loose some desireble funcionality.

I checked the 000351 before. However it demands a budgetary ledger using which is not the case here.

Gustavo.

Hello

a brief remark: changing the update profile in that way is considered as a modification and not supported by SAP....as you may suspect ;)..

I think profile 000202 is for NL.

Normally, it is recommended to choose the profile that better fits your needs. To do so, you may set up a dev/test system, and then assign different update profiles to your FM area (always in a development phase!) then, run report RFFMMONI and see how each value type will update FM.

After that, you might migrate to the desired one, considering that it must be a project as data reconstruction will be needed if postings already exist.

hope you find this information helpful

kind regards,

Mar

Great info Mar... thanks!

May I ask something?

If 000351 was developed for Colombia... and 000202 was for NL...

Will be something developed for others countries? Which ones?

Hello Oswaldo,

There are some UPs specifics for other countries like Canada, US and Germany.

Gustavo.

Hi Mar,

I am aware of the procedures needed.

The thing is FM is already implemented in a ruge private company with 000350 update profile, but they got to control funds from the POs.

I am analising the other profiles in a sandbox system, but I believe none of them have all the requirements desired by the client.

I am trying the 000202 now, but I am not optmistic with this one too.

Hi Eli,

I found where I can change FMUP01 from the table view. It has a SM30 for that, but this table is for SAP using. Any changes on that SAP do not support.

Did anybody already saw someone that insisted and changed this table anyway?

Tks,

Gustavo.

Yes, when looking in the mirrow

Indeed, as Mar rightly indicated, these changes will not be supported by SAP. So, you have to be ready to confront the consequences of update profile change. You see, it's possible that simple change in the table won't generate the desired effect in some cases and even worse could generate side effects where it's not requested.

But, if you are confident in FM tables and FM core programs, this could be done.

Eli
