Business Function EA-PS: will the activation influence other clients at the same system?

Hi together,

we plan to activate the Business Function EA-PS at an S/4HANA 1610 System and wonder if this will influence other already existent clients at the same system. We have 10 clients there with very different use cases.

In KBA 2503381 - Funds Management (PSM-FM) activation and deactivation , it is written:

"The activation of PSM-FM is per client, not per company code. If you have more than one company code in that system/client and you plan to post intercompany postings between company codes where at least one of them is not assigned to a FM area, then you will need to create a dummy FM Area with the minimum customizing settings (such as FM account assignemnts funds center and commitment item, for example). The same is valid when you assign a Company Code to a Controlling Area having Fund Accounting active."

Hi Michael,

Activation of business function, without actual activation of PSM-FM won't have much of an impact on your system. So, if your question is whether you would experience problems in system clients (not company codes) after such activation, then the answer is no. However, it's a bit hard for me to imagine a landscape where you'd have different clients within one system with different business needs.

As for impact on company codes, Mar has provided you exhaustive link for that matter.

thank you for your answers. I read the mentioned paragraph. "Client" in my question refers to the technical clients 001 to 999.

The background of my question is: the system in question is a S/4HANA demo system where a huge amount of work has flown into to build up different scenarios for very different industry sectors. Now we have one more client to prepare a public service solution to demonstrate to customers. If activation of EA-PS will break something in the other (technical) clients, we have a big problem.

As our answers show and my result of investigation we should not run into trouble.
