Hi All,

This is regarding Budget problem. One PO was created on 31.03.09 for an amount of Rs.32000000/-. But due to want of Budget the full PO quantity was not entered. After supplementing the Budget they changed the PO quantity with an additional amount of Rs.62760000/- on 25/4/09. But as the PO relates to 2008 the budget should have been consumed from 2008 Budget. But it is seen Rs.32000000/- has been consumed from 2008 and Rs 62760000/- has been consumed from 2009 budget. This has reduced the budget of 2009 which should not be reduced.

Please suggest..

Regards,

Arvind

Hi,

Is 31/3/2009 the last day of fiscal year 2008? The existing PO commitments must have been carried forward to FY 2009. When you change the PO in April, the commitment change happened in 2009 and it cosumes 2009 budget accordingly.

Hi Ming,

The committment carryforward happened as part of the closing activities for fiscal year 2008 during march 2009. Yes 31st march is teh last day of the FY 2008-09.

Since the supplement budget is for FY 2008-09 iot should consume the budget from 08-09.

Such incident happened in one of the regional office of the client where the budget was consumed from 08-09. Is it related to some kind of sysetm configuration..

Hi arvind,

If the commitment is in 2009 and the supplemental budget is in 2008, the commitment is not going to consume that budget. You will need to carryforward the supplemental budget to 2009. Or if you are using BCS with multi-year budget active, there should be no carryforward for both commitments and budget.

Ming
