AVC Filter for FM Account Assignment

Hi :

Client has a requirement to exclude certain combination of fund center & commitment items on as and when required basis. e.g. budget on a project has run out and funds for the project has been promised from Donor but there is a dire need to purchase goods for the project and PO processing is halted due to budget overrun. Client wants system to continue in these scenarios which occurs in some of their fund centers twice or thrice in a quarter. Client also do not want to post supplement to these budget and want to show budget deficit in case donor fails to meet his promise. For these kind of cases client wants a customizable control on some FM Account assignment . He wants the ability to exclude e.g FC/CI TranportOffice/TravelExpense to be excluded from budget check (as it has budget overrun) for the time funds are not received. Will AVC filter work for this case ? I see that AVC filter can exclude value types only like PR or PO from budget check but i do not see the possibility to exclude FM Account assignment combination.

Regards

Hi Atif,

The most standard way to deal with it will be creating a tolerance profile, which does not generate error messages for budget exceed, and then assigning this profile through strategy to the combination of fund centre and commitment item. Alternatively, you can use BADI to set AVC flag to 'skip' upon certain conditions, say combinations stored in some Z-table, but do it only if, for some reason, the solution of tolerance profiles is not good for you.

Eli

Hi Eli:

So you mean to say that neither of the solution is feasible and should not be used on as and when required basis. If this is so then what if these kind of cases starts happening too often as overall business is going in budget deficit specially when year end is approaching. What business should do in these cases ?

Hi Atif,

I didn't say that... Tolerance profiles is very common solution. I just said, that if, for some reason, it does not answer your requirement (though, I don't see why not), you can use non-standard solutions with BADI I mentioned.
