Today we held the ASUG Virginia Chapter meeting at Fairfax Water. For the first time the registration was at capacity.

SAP S/4 HANA for Public Services Roadmap
This session ended up being given by SAP Support, as the original presenter had to bring home a sick child from school. There was a lot of interest in this session so I thought I would recap here.

From a legal view, SAP has to show the legal disclaimer for all presentations, as they are still in the development phase and things are always subject to change

SAP S/4HANA simplifie data models, processes and also the user interface.
There was discussion about simplifying landscapes, consolidating on-premise and cloud and pre-defined integration scenarios

S/4HANA collapses the 26 document business suite tables previously required with the classic suite to only 1 data table for Materials Management
On the right side above, there was some discussion about Fiori; only a few people in the room have implemented/used it. It is to improve productivity with fewer clicks and training

This is the first time I've seen a slide like this for Public Sector, including Cloud solutions and Leonardo.

Above see the blue boxes highlighting plans for Public Sector. Interesting to see new virtual data models for Funds Management and Grants Management planned for 2018.
For 2019, plans include Funds Management capabilities for S/4HANA Cloud
2020 - it will be interesting to see US Federal Financials in the Universal Journal, having worked on the SAP US Federal Financials solution in the past.
