External Quotation Interface

Hey guys,

I was searching for a standard interface from SAP ERP to market data service provider. In the end I found the "External Quotation Interface" that is especially used in the Oil&Gas space. Coudl anyone provide me some more information regarding this interface? How is the 3rd party that is offering this interface?

It would be interesting to know, if we could leverage this interface to use it in other industry solutions (e.g. banking).

Thanks,

Cord

This interface is used to import the Platts & Reuters commodity exchange rates for different Oil & gas materials.

Oil&Gas pricing is usually based on complex formulas of the exchange price over a period

Price = f(avg price over a period) + some other complex pricing conditions built.

The Price evaluated by the Formula&Average (F&A) or Commodity Pricing Engine (CPE), which interprets the pricing formula and reads the rates from these quotes provided by Platts/Reuters

Thanks Harish. Looks like the interface is tailored to the needs of the Oil&Gas industry and not that easy to adapt for Financial Services requirements.
