Hi Stefan,
Thanks for reply.
I have gone through the link which you have provided.
I did all the relevant settings. But I could not execute the Production order with Multi Item Order using Fast data entry.
My requirement is to create production order multiple line items with same material code.
Please find the error .

Somiraghu,
Did you define the product as co-product? Next to the MRP 2 settings, consider the costing side. More details can be found here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/38/0cf814ed9b11d29fa2080009b0db33/content.htm
The multi item order utilizes the co-product concept and therefor your material need to be defined as such.
Interesting approach to create multi item order using the same material code for different line items. Why not to create an order with the total required quantity? I would be interested to learn about the business requirements behind your approach.

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your reply.
My requirement is the client manufactures PET film rolls based on the specification given by the customer specifications like Thickness, width, length, chemical treatments etc.
I will get 100 sales order items. The material code is same for many of the specifications I only differentiate through characteristics.
I need to create manual production order by clubbing various sales order and apart from that I also need some prodcution for stock items.

Did you look at the functionality 'order combination'?
There you can easily combine various orders into one production order.

Hi,
yes, APO is not required for this functionality. In fact the Multi Item Order can not be moved over to APO for further processing.

Somiraghu,
understand your requirement and the manual entry of the data in the Multi Item Order is an option ...
...but why would you re-key data from 100 sales order items when the order combination provides you with an easier option. You can also have a mix of MTO and MTS items in the order combination.
For the MTO items the various sales order line item will be the basis. For additional MTS items you need to have a planned or production order in the system.
Please let me know if you have additional specific questions.

Hi Stefan,
My requirement is my jumbo roll production has various capacity sizes 8.7 width, 4.7 width, and 8.2 width so, I need to plan manually to optimize size of slit after doing production to minimize waste of Jumbo.
For example:
Sales orders are received item code wise with specifications
1. Film Type
2. Thickness
3. Width
4. Length
5. Treatment In
6. Treatment Out
7. Metallic Coating (Optical density of metallic coating depends on customer req.)
8. Top Coating
9. No. of Rolls
Based on the sales order information stuffing plan is prepared.
In stuffing plan consider 10% (+ or -) allowance of weight. Based on the stuffing plan no. of rolls may increase or decrease.
With reference to Stuffing plan Jumbo, Primary slitting, secondary slitting, metalizing, metalize slitting, Top coating and Top coat slitting is planned.
Note: Every slitting stage Trim allowance is considered and it varies with film type and thickness.
Jumbo roll and primary slitting:
Based on the delivery date and specifications Film Type, Thickness, Width, Length, Treatment In, Treatment Out, Metallic Coating, Top Coating and Jumbo capacity of production line. Sales order rolls are planned from one sales order or from different sales order completely or partial rolls.
Even extra stock is planned to considered jumbo capacity if it regular moving film type.
Jumbo width capacity
Line 2&3 -8.7 m
Line1 -4.2m
Line 4 -5.5m
Planning jumbo roll width capacity varies based on film type and thickness.
Once the primary slitting is done. Slitted rolls are transferred to Secondary slitting, Metallizer, Top coating sections.
For example:
Order No. |
| Film Type | Micron | Width | Core Id | Length | Treatment In | Treatment Out | Order Qty. | No of Rolls | Stuff No Rolls | Stuff Qty |

|
Sale order LSOF-2012000036 no of stuffing rolls are 32 of width 1170.Only 2 rolls are considered.
Sale order LSOF-2011000551 no of stuffing rolls are 25 of width 1120.Only 5 rolls are considered.
Sale order LSOF-2011000551 no of stuffing rolls are 13 of width 700.Only 1 roll is considered.
1170*2+1120*5+700+trim allowance 30= 8670 mm

Hi Somiraghu,
I did an implementation in the same industry with the problematic you are describing and the approach I did was usins the order combination. The multi item order even I tested the best approach was using the order combination.

Hi Isaias Morales,
Thanks for your reply.
In order combination concept I need to create for each roll one production order then I have then I need to manually check select all the combinations then I need to go for Order combination.
Here in my scenario there will nearly 1000 rolls are produced at slit level. In this case I need to create 1000 secondary slit order apart from this I need to create production orders at primary slit nad then at Jumbo Production.
Above all makes much number of orders which is not practically possible.

Hi,
This is Krishna came for Implementation of PET Films having same problem.Since slit optimization based production of Jumbo & Primary slit need to be carried i have developed a Z where sales order based optimization & manual production order against combined sales order is done & keeping all optimized data in Z Tables.Fetching same at time of GR.
