Role of session variant

Hi All,

what is the role of session variant in the CM??

I have assigned a session variant "yearly with semester", which was given in IDES,

Now whenever I gives admission an student with program of study I get two option in session field -Semester1, Semester2.

I want to add 2 more semester with this session variant.

What chsnges I need to make in configurations.

I saw in IMG, session variant is mapped with session group only, what is other mapping of session variant in IMG so that I can add two more semesters in that variant.

And Michael, Please attach the IMG Configuration.zip again..because that file is of 0bytes after downloading

Hi Ankita,

Session variant links the <b>Session grouping</b> and groups all the sessions to a particular academic year .

So either it is semester 1, semester 2, 3, 4.... . In <b>spro</b> ,go to academic calendar ,

---> Define academic sessions (add semester 3, 4 ...)

---

>Assign academic year to sessions add semester 3, 4 to the same academic year .

-

---

> In session group also add the additional semesters 3, 4...

Automatically the session variant will contain the semester 3, 4 .

Then admission and registration for the students is not a problem after you link session variant to the program of study .
