Good afternoon,
I need your help in two subjects related with Appraisal:
1. Once the User has captured the grade on transaction PIQSMFU, I need to lock the authorization for modification. I thought two solutions:
a) I could do that setting the indicator "Change lock" on the same transaction, but it's deactivated. Does anybody know how to activate it?
b) I could use the authorization profiles defined on SPRO, but i don't know where to assign this profiles to a user.
2. I need to lock some appraisal types for a short period of time. For example, my appraisal template is:
Final Grade
Period 1 50.00
Period 2 50.00
Then, I must avoid users to capture period 2 because by now we're on period 1. Is there any way to lock an appraisal type?
Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Araceli ,
Your solution is also good . Adding to that,
From my point if you want to restrict the authorization of editing piqsmfu for all users , except for the admini department who has the control of entering grades . After entering the grades , it will be in display mode for <b>Display Assessment Process</b> transaction. So there is no problem in editing over there . We can view the same for all students for Period1 and the same authorization can be given to the viewers .

Thank you Gajalakshmi,
But when I access to transaction PIQEVALD I can't see the grades I've already assigned on transaction PIQSMFU.

Hi Araceli,
Check with piqevalm also .
The students should be booked to the module and additionally the assesment process also should be opened for the students.

Hi Araceli,
To address your first query check if the following solution helps: If you are using portals, then you can deactivate the relevant link to the piqsmfu transaction at any point of time / for any period for the set of users entering the grades. Thus you have the flexibility in controlling the time periods during which the faculty /user can enter the grades. This control is from the portals end though ,but would solve your purpose.

Thank you Ramesh,
But I'm not yet using the portal.
Thank you anyway.

Araceli,
My advice to you is to use the Grading Self-Service Web Dynpro application we provide for this, rather than providing instructors direct access to PIQSMFU. I have uploaded some information in the attached ZIP file that will help you find this particular Java Web Dynpro. It requires the use of the Portal (at least up to level SP9).
We are working on a correction for the portal configuration, but in the meanwhile, you will need to do the following:
Open the iView 'Appraisal Self-Service' in your portal. Go to attribute 'Name of External Window'. Delete the '-' in the name. The valid name of external window should be 'Apprasial Self Service'. And in the same iView, go to attribute 'Launch in new window', change the attibute to 'Display in Separate Headerless Portal Window'.
The attached ZIP file includes a screen-shot of the necessary changes.
With the proper configuration, you can achieve the authorizations you are looking for in the Web Dynpro.
