Need guidance-SAP Healthcare

Hello, I am a medical professional with 7+ yrs experience in Clinical practice+Healthcare IT+drug safety. Currently working in drug safety in India.

Heard about SAP Healthcare and want some more information on the role of medicos in SAP Healthcare.

I am interested to build my career in SAP Healthcare. Is it possible to start my career in SAP Healthcare without SAP Healthcare knowledge? Are there jobs for medicos in SAP Healthcare job?

Having a domain knowlede would obviously help you a lot in understanding the SAP IS-h, besides this having hands on in SAP is also necessary to understand the flow of healthcare in SAP IS-h.

I recommed you to attend traning provided by SAP.

Dear Chetan

you have to distinguish two different branches in SAP Healthcare.

First branch is called "SAP Patient Management" or IS-H (=Industrie Solution Healthcare)

Focus is Patient Accounting and a lot of FI/CO-Releated stuff

IS-H is owend by SAP

Second branch is calles  "i.s.h.med hospital information system"

Focus is Patient treatment, medication,

i.s.h. med is owend by Siemens.

In this forum most of the treads are related to "SAP Patient Management"

There are only a few hospitals in india running "SAP Patient Management".

You should have good ABAP-Knowledge or SD-Knowledge ist you pursue this goal.

With your descrition of your background in mind a job related to ""i.s.h.med" would better fit.

also look at SAP Life Sciences. While SAP Healthcare covers the Hospital business, SAP Life Sciences covers solutions for Pharma, Medical Device and Biotechnology companies, e.g. for Drug safety like Track & Trace. have a look here: http://scn.sap.com/community/life-sciences .
