Dear All,
How can i integrate SAP with CIS (Clinical information system) .
All diagnostic centers like Radiology and Department is 3rd party for my scenario.
I have to integrate it with ECC6.0. All together my scenario will be like
ECC 6.0 -
SAP PI -
CIS.
Most of HIS system is followed HL7 standard. I am little worried about the pictures in LAB . I want to know is there any adapter is there to support the CIS with SAP PI .
Plz suggest me that how should i proceed for this process .
Thanx in Advance.

Hello Prashant,
In your case PI and the adatpers can support the integration. Currently there are 2 HL7 solutions provided by SAP partners in supporting HL7.
One is SAP Conversion Agent powered by Informatica integrated in PI, it is a conversion tool which does the format mapping e.g. XML to HL7. However in this case you will still need the PI technical adapters to support the transport protocol. Some of our customers use like PI File, or JMS adapters. But this is really various from customers' landscape.
The second one is iWAY which is a 3rd party product. It is a complete HL7 adapter which does not only provide HL7 library but also support the transport protocol. It is not integrated in PI, in this case you have the iWAY HL7 adapter in between PI and CIS.
Both solutions are available in SAP Service Marketplace,http://service.sap.com/xi/SAP/XI in Detail/Connectivity/Connectivity SAP NetWeaver 7.0(2004s)/SAP NetWeaver 2004
Under there you will find 3rd Party solutions from iWAY and SAP Conversion Agent by Informatica.
Also if you would like to follow my blogs, in the next blog I will introduce HL7 adapters in PI with partner solution. /people/jing.chen-schirrmeister/blog
I hope this helps you.
Best regards

HI Jing,
I m very happy because you read and answered my thread
The answer is very much helpful for me.
I just want to know that
is SAP PI is having any adapter to integrate with DICOM .
Because now a days most of LABS are DICOM compaitable.
How can i handle the images in my integartions .
Because in my scenario PI will be contact directly to machine.

Hello Prashant,
to my knowledge there is no XI adapter for DICOM. For users of the HIS i.s.h.med there is a
recently released product called DICOM-Bridge created by Tiani Spirit which enables i.s.h.med to
- act as a worklist source
- receive MPPS and SCN(IAN) messages
- do a C-Move (and receive a C-Move Response)
- do a Patient Query/Retrieval against any PACS
The product is a standalone application (J2EE) basically converting DICOM messages to SOAP requests. The webservices and consumers are tailored to work with i.s.h.med but I suppose due to the extent of the messages designed it might be useful elsewhere too.
BTW, I wonder what you want to do with the actual DICOM images within IS-H, I can't imagine to store or view DICOM images within SAP.
hope it helps a bit,
anton

Hi,
currently there is no DICOM adapter integrated in PI.
But to my knowledge the typical scenario for a middleware (in this case PI) to support DICOM maybe: a clinical system sends HL7 orders to a DICOM interface for generating DICOM worklist, the DICOM worklist will then be delivered to different DICOM applications or PACs.
Is this your scenario? In this case you may use PI to receive the HL7 orders and integrate to a DICOM interface application like Etam and so on. SAP PI does not provide this part of mapping.

Hi Antom,
Very helpful suggestion .
Actually right now the requirement is like i have to
Connect the PI system to LAB so that immediately i can get the report of the patient
with details pictures of lab also.
As per my HIS team told that they need the patient report with details of lab report like X-RAY images CT scan images. Now a days all those CIS system is DICOM adaptable so i asked that can i do direct integration with it.
I would like to thank all for this valuable suggestion.
It helps me a lot.

Hello,
try this one: http://service.sap.com/xi/
From there go to ->SAP XI in Detail ->Connectivity ->Connectivity SAP NetWeaver 7.0(2004s)/SAP NetWeaver 2004
And then you will find 3rd Party solutions from iWAY and SAP Conversion Agent by Informatica.
