Being at the beginning of industrial value chains and supplying the manufacturing industry with materials, Chemicals is probably the industry that can contribute most to the sustainability of industrial value chains. The chemical industry has had a very successful time of reducing emissions and energy consumption. However, a new chapter in sustainability is now being opened under the aspect of circular material cycles and climate neutrality, which presents the chemical industry with completely new challenges.

One aspect of mastering these challenges is to determine chemical product footprints, because only knowledge of these footprints allows the footprint of chemical products to be actively shaped. I had the opportunity to highlight this in Specialty Chemistry Magazine To gain a step on the competition, focus on product carbon footprint and Process Engineering Magazine 3 Steps to Better Measure and Manage Carbon Footprints in the Chemical Sector. No doubts that many footprint data will be touched by SAP applications. So good to see that SAP is investing into this area. What is your take on this? Looking forward to your feedback.
