Companies can leverage Big Data, standardize data models and use predictive analytics to take chemical operations performance to the next
level. With real-time data, companies can gain a competitive advantage and prepare for the next revolution driven by the internet of things.

Process manufacturing industries, such as the Chemical Industry, do not have Big Data needs like the Consumer Products or Healthcare
industries, but they do need to deal with compliance, supply chain complexity and inefficient operations.  Companies must reduce operational risks with compliance to the ever-changing regulatory environment.  These changes have a direct impact on product innovation, in particular for specialty chemical companies.  Chemical companies, similar to other industries, have moved manufacturing to high growth/low cost regions, creating a complex global supply chain with extended transit times.  This volatility has created a need to manage uncertainty with responsiveness through visibility. On the shop floor, where data used to collect dust, companies are realizing asset performance gains with dwindling resources by leveraging big data capabilities from numerous operational sources.  The use of real-time data can bring in significant benefit to the organizations as shown in the data below:

Break the Myth that SAP HANA is Only for Large
Enterprises:   Hear About Textile Rubber
& Chemical Com...

Any company of any size interested in implementing SAP Products should consider making the leap to SAP HANA technology. This session will cover arguments for this statement using Textile Rubber & Chemical Company’s (TRCC) decision-making process as an example as well as its migration
to SAP HANA story. TRCC uses SAP HANA to run SAP ECC (SAP Suite on HANA) and for its reporting/analytics. The SAP HANA platform includes many additional components beyond an in-memory database, components that would otherwise be licensed separately. Speakers will explain how TRCC uses those components to run SAP ECC and Business Intelligence without the need for additional components. Hear the experiences (approach taken, complexity, effort, things to watch for, and lessons learned): Licensing, hardware, migration from SAP ECC on Sybase to SAP ECC on SAP HANA, and running SAP BusinessObjects on SAP HANA.

Bo Coppinger, Director of Information Technology at Textile Rubber & Chemical Company, Inc. will discuss implementation highlights and lessons learned.  Bo Coppinger has been responsible for IT at Textile Rubber & Chemical Company for nine years, and recently managed the implementation of SAP ERP and the recent move to SAP Suite on HANA at Textile Rubber & Chemical Company.
