I am a SAP Consultant with a solid background in financial services. I am looking to take a SAP Banking course, can anyone advise whether it is beneficial or relevant to learn FICO before taking this? I am currently working in SD.
Thanks

Hi Jonathan
SAP Banking is split into 2 main areas, Analytical Banking which deals with the valuation and accounting for Banking products, and FICO knowledge would be useful here but a knowledge of accounting concepts would be more important here.
The other area is Banking Serivices or Transactional Banking. Having worked with FICO for many years myself and now working with Banking Services I can say that FICO is not relevant here until you get to either the GL posting part, which is a specialist area, or loans. There are many parts of the banking system that have no relation to FICO. You may also be interested in the integration with CRM as you are an SD consultant.
You can safely learn Transactional Banking and sit the certification without knowing FICO.
I hope this helps
