SAP BI model for banking and SAP Bank Analyzer -

hi all:

In the typical
scenario where we have for example one BA module implemented, as example AFI,with a complete architecture for bank analyzer, including the SDL, method and calculation and also the RDL.

Also we have a complex SAP BI analytical model including a complete information regarding business partner, contracts, transaction, and all the necessary information in order to execute different reports to provide information internally and also externally for example to the government entities. In this cases we could use some BI content.

my doubt is the following: what is the better architecture to recommend at the customer?

1.- Load the SDL (or the old FDB) making the ETL process from the different core banking systems(SAP and non SAP) into those database in SAP bank analyzer, and after that use that SDL as a provider information to SAP BI?

2.- Load the SDL from the core banking systems and make the ETL process again from the core banking systems to the SAP BI objects?

Is important to keep in mine performance to obtain the analytical reports, some of them are daily way, early in the morning. And also is important to grow in a future report requirement easier.

what do you mean could be the best solution in this case? or probably a mix?

thank you.

Hi Marcelo,

one of the benefits of using Bank Analyzer is the Integrated Data Model,

so the optimum solution is to use SDL to load into your BI system.

It will save you implementation time , maintenance and you will have a consistent Data Model

thank
you Tasos. I agree and I think is the best way.

but in addition we have a complex road map. first one part of core banking in SAP,
after that the second part and then AFI in BA (the 3th step). but during this time in parallel
the customer want to implement the SAP BI model. in this cases mi recommendation
will be to implement the SDL only, together with SAP Bi implementation. and at the end when the
AFi phase will be starting we will have the SDL completed to start the AFI modulo implementation. that sound good for you?

thank
you for help me.

Hi Marcelo,

i have not understand exactly the Roadmap you described

1) ERP 1st part, 2) ERP 2nd part + BI 3) AFI in BA?

You will use AFI to create postings to ERP?

sorry.  probably I not clear.

1- SAP banking services deposits.   2 SAP banking services Loans + SAP BA AFI.

yes we will use AFI to post the GL transaction to ERP GL.  correct.

for that we will have ready AFP in the 2 step.. aprximatelly 18 month later.

thank you
