Hi Chidambaram,
regarding Q2: As far as I know, there're no dedicated reports for VMS in ERP itself but BW extractors for VMS do exist. On the BW side, there's also standard content for VMS available.
As VMS is mainly based on MM and SD, the standard reporting avialable for these to components within ERP might be helpful as well. Of courese, for these components BW content exists, too.
In addition, for some cases, the usage of the vehicle search profiles in VELO can to some (limited) extend provide functionality similar to reporting within VMS itself.
Kind regards,
Steffen

Hi Sir ,
As you already know VMS is a central tool for managing, procuring,sales/distribution and tracking of vehicles. Standard SD cycle will happen with distributor/importer & Dealer and MM cycle between Distributor/importer & OEM.
So we can use the standard reports itself to know the stock status and all .There is not separate report as such
in VMS . As this VMS application call standard BAPI's through its actions to perform each bussiness process
it will make the corresponding change in normal R/3 application as well ( Eg:- Action GOIS(Goods Issue) will call BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE) .
The only reports availble in VMS are as follows, these are reports for Administrators
VELOV Define variants for actions in batch
VELOB Perform actions in a batch
VELOR Update reservation queue
VELOE Correct incorrect vehicle statuses
VELOP01 Log: status monitor for vehicle IDoc (not in menu)
VELOP02 Log: update reservation queue (not in menu)
VELOP03 Log: action execution in Vehicle Manager (not in menu)
I hope this information helps

Hi Chidambaram,
for being able to solve Q1, in my opinion the dealers need to access the VMS system. I assume you use dealer portal (or maybe the dealers have access to VELO directly?).
As VMS is typically installed at the importer and only the importer is normally modelled with one or several plants, the vehicles are not in the MM stock any more as soon as to create the goods issue in order to ship the vehicle to a dealer.
Depending on your requirements, it might be sufficient that you assume that from this point on (action GOIS was executed) you consider the vehicle being in the dealers stock. If you require to know hen the vehicle physically arrives at the dealer's lot, you probably need to introduce an action which is executed by either the dealer or the transportation agent when the vehicle arrives at the dealer's.
Similarily, I think you would require the dealer to execute a status change action when the vehicle is removed from the dealer's stock.
I'm not sure what your requirements look like in detail but this might be sufficient to be able to derive which vehicles are in which dealers stock. You would be able to figure this out by combining the vehicle status with the customer number of the vehicle as selection criteria in e. g. a report or the vehicle search.
Maybe there're other solution approaches possible which might fit better to your particular requirements but what I described above is a relatively simple possibility which might be sufficient.
Kind regards,
Steffen

For see the stock of the dealer need to control retail sales of dealers, this possible thru DLR portal, or some retail report issue end uploading to VMS, this will create status of vehicle "Retailed/Sold" to the end customer.
Dlr Stock = wholesale - retail.

Hello,
regarding Q3: Vehicle Transfer in the new dealer Portal (frontend for ERP6.0 Ehp4) works as follows:
Dealers can check other dealeru2018s stock based on their authorization.
Dealer A has an end customer who wants to buy a vehicle which is in Dealer Bu2018s stock.
Dealer A requests the vehicle from Dealer B and initiates the transfer.
Vehicle has a transfer status (requested, rejected, confirmed)
Sales order for Dealer A is deleted (only if no subsequent documents like deliveries or invoices exist !) and new sales order for Dealer B is created. That is how the standard works. But it is possible to adapt the standard to your business needs (programming your own actions).
Best regards
Edda
