Solved: Vehicle Photo

Hi. When a car arrives to do a service, I want to take a picture of it with any mark it can have, to avoid any future claim.

If a take a photo of a mark, I want to make some anotations to it in the same photo (just like using the pencil in windows Paint program.

Is there any solution for what I want?

If not, what do you recomend for displaying the photos? Picture control?

HI Carlos Basualdo,

Based on your post I could see that you are using DBM for the dealer solution. I am sorry to say this, but we do not have any direct solution to what you are asking, but what we have in DBM vehicle master is a DMS (Document Management System), which helps us upload documents, pictures, notes, etc on the vehicle master.

Say in your case, when the vehicle comes for service, you may click some pics and make notations using MSPAINT, and then can upload the photos to the vehicle master of the vehicle with the service order number, so that when some customer complaints about the damages, you can go to the DBM, download the picture and show the same to the customer.

This works only from the Vehicle master, and not at the order level. So, you would have to traverse through order engine and vehicle master to copy / download the images.

Thanks very much Harsha for your reply. Certainly I have DBM and VMS. I now know a little bit more about our needs.

Think that we have all our vehicles as a group of views in CAD or something else. This views should appear (could be one each time) as the background in the picture to edit. Any mark we find in an incoming vehicle we want to mark it in the foreground of the CAD view, as a new layer without touching or modifying the background. Perhaps I can include a circle or a square to point to the mark.

I hope this makes clear what I need.

Someone name PICTURE CONTROL but I don't know what it is or if it can help me. Another one told me about developing something in WebDynpro. I am very open to develop something if I need to.
