Hi,
Is Vehicle management system (VMS) is separate module in IS-automotive or product or add-on with version. Does it come with std ECC or buy separately?
Thanks and Regds

Dear Sridhara,
VMS is part of the component called DIMP.
DIMP comes with the standard ECC i.e. when ECC is purchased, DIMP would be part of it, but that component has to be activated in order to use VMS.
This DIMP is part of ECC from ECC 5.0. Earlier versions of ERP does not have DIMP as part of it, they were delivered as Ad-On's.

Dear Sridhara,
Activation is not a one step process, there are multiple Notes that SAP has released in order to activate.
Pl use note 874471 for information regarding activation.
There are other notes that you could use, pl search after "DIMP Activation in ECC" in the same SDN, that would give you all the additional details
Hope this is helpful.

Hi,
No, It willnot effect R/3. DIMP means you are activating IS-Auto.
From ECC 5, SAP offering industie specifications in this way.
Earlier versions it was add-on.

Hi,
just one comment to your initial question if you neet to buy SAP Vehicle Manager separately. If you want to use SAP Vehicle manager additional license fee will occur. Please contact your account manager.

Hi ,
Automotive is an addon that SAP is providing , in earlier for
getting this functionality we were ask to to install this
addon separately , but now with ERP release we only need to
activate these addon in transaction SFW5.
Like all other addons automotive also provides so many additional
functionalities like warranty claim processing (WTY ),
Just in time (JIT) , vehicle managment ( VMS) , Self billing (SBI)
etc
Please go through the following link in help.sap.com for knowing
