Vehicle Data Migration

Former Member

Hi Experts:

We are implementing SAP VMS and using BAPI BAPI_VEHICLE_CREATE, but I have some concerns about its usings:

We are not able to choose a VEHICLE PRIMARY OR SECONDARY STATUS with this BAPI, it determines the status defined in customizing. Is there any way to do it? What if I have many different status to determine in vehicles I migrate?

It is impossible to assign a storage location for a vehicle. It is a problem for example for vehicles already received but not sold (It doesnu2019t allow to create a delivery without a storage location in VMS)

It is impossible to assign a customer for a vehicle (for example for vehicles reserved).

My concern is that I would have to replicate all our business processes until the correct status for the specific vehicle, or there is a way to do it without executing all the actions, just for initial load of vehicles in SAP.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Best regards,

Ivette

Hi,

The primary and secondary status are configured and the action is mapped with these statuses in Action Matrix in customising. Please do that customising and ensure that your vehicle is already at the correct status. Only if these preconditions are met, you can run the action on the vehicle.

Adjust your conversion approach.

If you are unable to load your vehicles with the correct pri & sec status, subsequent to vehicle creation you can use transaction VELOE to manually adjust the status per vehicle or group of selected vehicles. perhaps you can call the program behind this transaction within your conversion process to meet your requirement?

When you load your vehicle records, there is no finacial or quantive impact in Inventory Management - hence there is no stock to be recorded in a storage location (as a Sloc is an IM element). When you process action IEID to load your initial vehicle stock in IM you can supply the storage location which is used in the resultant 501 goods movement receipt.

Hope this helps,

Hi,

"When you process action IEID to load your initial vehicle stock in IM you can supply the storage location which is used in the resultant 501 goods movement receipt."

May i know how to perform the action IEID in MIGO? or Bring in vehicle stock. I have managed to change the primary status to QP40 but I can't perform goods movement in DBM. Message : material document does not contain any item..

Rgds,
