Unit of measure HR not maintained for material XYZ in DBM

Dear All,

When I try to add a material in DBM order,System is throwing error 'Unit of measure HR not maintained for material XYZ' with message no.M3353. I checked material master where all the Base UoM is maintained as HR in all relevant views. Please assist me in solving the issue. '

Hi Manasa,

I guess.

  This is because the material group you entered in the material master is assigned for activity allocation from the workshop cost center to the internal order of the workshop order.

Check the same material group is also assigned to activity type who's unit of measure is different than material .hence you are getting this error.  Either change material group from material master or remove the assignment of this material group to activity type under (/DBM/SPRO) customization

"Order -> Account Assignment -> Define Account Assignment for Posting Costs in Order"

Hi Ganesh,

As per existing business process,we were using material group for which account assignment is done in the mentioned customizing path, in material master. It was working fine till yesterday. Our customer has created a material in a plant,after which we are facing this issue for all the orders where the material is used in all plants. Please let me know if any other field is missing in material master.

In account assignment customization have you assigned same activity type too all combination of Material Group and plant ?

Hi Ganesh,

Yes, same activity type is assigned for combination of material group,plant,cost element and cost center. Customer has extended a material to different plant and sales org after which we are facing this issue.

Check the sales unit in new sales organisation view , for DBM sales unit and base unit of material has to be same.

Hi Ganesh,

sales unit is not maintained in material master of the material.Even in other materials,we havent maintained. When I try to change the same,below error is shown.

'The alternative unit of measure is the same as the base unit of measure'.

Hello Manasa,

I am not next to DBM system but is there any UOM for PR. Ref Material? if yes, then can you check what is UOM for it?
