Supersession SD

Hello

I am working on the parts supersession(Interchangeability of parts).

I have created FFF materail and set up PIC01 for parts A->B->C with validity dates. I have changed the order type setting to show all items.

When I enter a sales order for part A and if the RDD is beyond the supercession date , I should see the part B or C appearing as line item in SO in addtion to part A.

This is not happening. Can you please let me know what am I missing?.

Hello Sunny

When a material in supersession is replaced two things are taken into consideration.

1) The replacement type that is defined in the SUS chain.

If you want the original material to be replaced by the latest material always, use replacement type 'F' (Forward). Based on validity date, the original material will be replaced by other latest materials in the chain.

2) The ATP check is carried out to determine availability of the material. Based on availabiltiy replacement occurs.

For example, A and B are part of SUS chain and both are valid for the delivery date of the sales order.

In this case replacement happens based on availability of the material.
