Is there any automotive re-manufacturing solution available in SAP. If so, is that an industry solution or a bolt-on to ECC? We are designing a solution around this but came to know that there is already a solution exist in SAP. Please help!

Hi Shankar,

As per my understanding, the Assembly Purchase order can be used. This is Subcontracting process that allows us to add the required material into the vehicle and the cost of each components also gets added to the vehicle cost. To proceed with this please take care of the below points -

1- Make Sure all required components are available in the Bills of Material (Transaction - CS01)

- Main vehicle components and the components to be added to be part of the BOM.

2- Make sure that Manufacturer is created as Vendor. (Transaction - XK01)

3- If there are Multiple Manufacturing Vendor involved, Please have Multiple Alternative BOM. (Transaction - CS02)

4- Please maintain Production version for each alternative BOM (Transaction C223)

5- Create/Update the Purchase Info record for the applicable Vendor and Production Version (ME12)

- system will automatically pick the alternative BOM and the relevant price in the Subcon Asssembly PO.

6- Issue out all the components to the applicable  Vendor , Movement type 541 (Transaction ME2O/MIGO)

7- Proceed with VMS action to create Assembly PO (Item category should be "L").

8- Proceed with VMS action to Create GR. (101 Movement type)

9- Once GR posted, system will consume the components from the Vendor stock and 101 Movement will be posted for the Finished goods.

10- If we check the Accounting document the cost of each components will already get added to the vehicle Stock.

11- We can check the latest vehicle cost by using SAP standard report MB52.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,
