Pricing in DBM

Former Member

Hi all,

I am new to DBM, can anybody help me, how pricing is done in DBM. As I am not able to see any pricing condition types like QPRT , QPRS, etc. Whether we have to use the Pricing Procedure RVAA01 for DBM? Please give some clarity on this.

Thanks & regards,

Senthil

Hi Senthil,

Though DBM is an Add on to ERP, it still uses the standard SD concepts in many cases and Pricing is one among them.

Go to te standard SD transaction V/08 for pricing procedures. The standard DBM Pricing procedures are:

QDBMP1 DBM Parts Sales

QDBMS1 DBM Service

QDBMV1 DBMVehicle

QDBMV2 DBM Used Vehicle

For condition types go to standard SD transaction V/06, there you can see all the conditions, including the ones for DBM.

I hope this helps.

Hi Harsha,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes I can understand all the pricing procedures and condition types for DBM starts with the letter Q. But I am unable to see any of these in my system. Please confirm whether anything has to be activated or could be due to any DBM installation problem in our end.

Thanks & Regards,

Senthil

Hi, have you activate the bc sets?

Hi Pedro,

Thanks for your reply, yes we have not activated the BC sets. We are implementing DBM 7.0, as we tried to activate the BC sets, it is giving error saying version incompatible. I checked our installation through Version Analyzer, I found many differences in our installation ( missing many of the basic settings ). Is there any possibility to download the missing portions through Version Analyzer. Kindly advise me to resolve this issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Senthil,

Ideally you should have activated the BC Sets, if hte BC Sets are giving errors, you need to get them fixed.

Write back to SAP to get help on how to fix the BC SETS.

As an alternative you can go through the config guide that you have received along with the installation kit. You need ot make few settings manually based on the config guide.

Another alternative is that, if you are not receiving errors on a lot of BC Sets, you can go to transaction SCPR3, go to the BC set and check those entries where you are receiving errors and manually create those entries in your system.

To see where the error are coming, you need to go to SCPR20, give the BC Set name and go to the log. There you should see which table is returning error messages, based on the error message, go to SCPR3, check the table and its entries, can try to manually populate them into the system.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Harsha

PS: Usually standard BC Sets wont give errors, like mass errors, pl check with suggested Service packs on the ECC and DBM, as is proposed by SAP.

Hi Harsha,

Thanks for your prompt reply, when I try to activate the BC sets it gives the following error :

"Invalid release when activating BC sets"

Is it possible to change the validity of BC sets?

Thanks & regards,

Senthil

Hi Senthil,

I could be that the release of your ECC is not supported for those BCSETs (I am not very sure, pl try to talk to your BASIS consultant) or raise an OSS message.

Thats the best way forward, according to me.

Hi Harsha,

Thanks a lot. I will try as per your suggestion.

The alternate you suggested, copying the tables, whether the links will work? when we copy the tables.

With best regards,

Senthil

Which Links??

See, I had done that long back about manually populating the views/tables based on the BCSETs and it worked, it was on a test system though..

BCSET just forces the table fields into the respective tables. So, it is ok if u do it manually also, but take every care to populate all those tables which are mentioned in the BC SET.. If you miss out any, system may act weird.

Best regards,

Harsha
