prerequisite for Vehicle Master Creation

could you please explain in detailed prerequisites to check before creation of Vehicle master?

Hi Krishna,

First prerequisite:

You have to assign the user to VMS roles QMAT and QORG in transaction VELORU.

You have to distinguish between VMS and DBM.

In DBM you can create a vehicle master using transaction code /DBM/VM, /DBM/VM_LEAN or /DBM/VSEARCH.

A vehicle master cannot be created without a vehicle model.

In a vehicle model a material master has to be assigned.

In background VMS vehicles are integrated, therefore a dummy variant configuration needs to be created

for which lean master data is required.

In transaction code VELOS you have to define the action control determination.

Vehicle model created and assigned material master in it

when I try to create Vehicle master by using /DBM/VM/,  /DBM/VM_LEAN, VELOSI am getting error: No action control found.

kindly suggest where I am missing,Waiting for your reply.

Hi Krishna,

in DBM standard szenario vehicle is initiated from DBM model master.

Fields Purchasing Organization, Sales Organization and Distribution Channel are not set in transaction VELOS.

Sales Organization and Distribution Channel are set later when action QACU is executed.

Purchase Organization is set when action QORD is executed.

Please remove Purchasing Organization, Sales Organization and Distribution Channel for the relevant key in transaction VELOS.

Concerning material master you have to create a dummy variant configuration because in the background VMS vehicles are integrated. Variant configruation is not actively used.
