I have been looking for documentation on how to use Supersession and Interchangeability of Parts (Form Fitting Function) in SAP. Do you know where we can retrieve formal documentation of this process in order to determine how we can apply this to a requirement at our client? We're looking for actual application documentation. We have plenty of conceptual documentation but very little practical "how-to".

Requesting:

1. Experience with material exchange functionality as it relates to FFF in a production environment (ATP, warehouse management, special stocks)

2. How to use the discontinuation logic but applied to non-MRP relevant materials. We have discovered that discontinuation simply will not suffice for the customer requirement. They use reorder point planning and bulk indicators for several materials in which they need to substitute other materials once the original stock has ran out.

We have a business need that we need to address, and having more information on this topic would benefit our efforts significantly.
