Manufacture Part Number visibility in VSS Screens

Hi All,

Our organization recently underwent a SAP implementation process and currently utilizes the Vehicle Sales Service Dealer Management System (DMS). Initially, a decision was made by management to use internal SAP part numbers without the Manufacturer Part Number (MPN), resulting in most VSS screens not displaying the MPN.

Example:

Considering our company's primary focus on vehicle aftersales, there's a growing need among end-users to display the Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) on their screens. This is because item descriptions often lack clarity in identifying the correct part. The MPN serves as an intelligent number, facilitating easier identification. The solution offered by the Application team involves using MB51, but this requires entering each item individually. In a real working environment, this process can be time-consuming.

From the users they have requested to display in the VSS Screens in the below columns.

Are there any alternative solutions available?

What are the potential outcomes if we proceed with this change request?

Have any other automotive companies experienced similar situations?

First of all, apologies for the delayed response. 

I went through your question and would like to know more about your situation. My first assumption is that you have activated the MPN. Is that correct?. Meanwhile, I would also request you to create an incident so that our support team can check it in your system directly.

I shall update the SAP community forum once we conduct the diagnosis.
