Hello All,
I am looking for a step by step guide to create orders in Dealer Business Management.
I am currently dealing with the integration of DBM orders into Multi Resource Scheduling (MRS).
All the documents that I could find on the net explain about DBM, the classes it uses and classes on MRS side that deal with DBM integration. However, I wanted to create a order in DBM and use it in MRS.
Can somebody help me out here?

Mithun

Hi Mithun,
do you want to create orders manually or by program?
General information with cookbooks you can find here

HI Mithun,
Some steps which can help u process DBM order with MRSS
-> Create a new vehicle (only if u need to create the vehicle )
-> Assign Customer to the vehicle.
-> Go to Order and create a service order (Alternative approach is to use /DBM/ORDER transaction to create a service order)
-> Check Workshop capacity:
1. On the Service Workshop Create u2013 Tab Appointment Scheduling go to section u201CAppointment Job Details/Job Overviewu201D
2. Check the Catalog ID, which is preset or enter one. Choose labour value.
3. Press Enter and check the capacity of the department .
4. Open "Workshop Overview" and check the available capacity
5. Choose a day with capacity and mark this day via u201Cdouble click"
-> Arrange for a Replacement car (If the dealer does this replacement business)
1. Proceed to "Resourse Overview" to find a replacement vehicle for that day
2. Mark the vehicle of choice via double click. The system in response will mark the vehicle in yellow
-> Service advisor would look for the resources (technicians) to work on the vehicle. Select the resourse and a time slot.
-> Once the service advisor and technician time is selected, press the "Scheduling" button, which forwards the date to MRS and confirms the order.
-> Checking in MRS
1. Go to transaction /n/MRSS/PLBOORG (MRS Planning board)
2. Click on the "Structure Search" in the left pane to open up "Workshop"
3. Double click on the department
I hope this helps.

Hello All,
Thank you for your answers.
1) The document that Robert provided is good, but in my case it would be useful for the later part as it deals with only integration or rather customization of DBM in MRS. Still its a very good document.
Also Robert, I havent fully explored through the cookbooks, but they are good links too. Thanks for that.
2) Harsha, thank you for your answer. But it still doesnt tell me a step by step implementation.. Like what should the transactio be, what details to fill on what screens....
I know its like spoon feeding, but I am totally new to DBM (and MRS for that matter).

Mithun

Hi Mithun,
If u have checked my post correctly, then u would have got the transactions already.
This is the max I can give here:
Vehicle master - /DBM/VM
Order Processing - /DBM/ORDER
MRSS - /MRSS/PLBOORG
I cannot give you any more details, See through the documentation that Robert has sent and also check help.sap.com to get more inputs.
As a piece of advice: Do your homework and then come to forums, you cannot expect ppl here ready to teach you online, when you could have put in some effort to learn based on the info present online.

Hey Harsha,
Just for the record, I was not expecting step by step procedure as a reply, but rather a documentation link that could help me out.
Thanks anyway.

Hi Mithun,
Here goes the Best practices link for DBM.
http://help.sap.com/bp_dbmv1600/DBM_DE/html/index.htm
Click on the Business information section on the left, and then select the Preconfigured scenarios. On the right hand side, you shd be able to see different best practice DBM processes listed. Click on the process you are focusing on and then check in the "Scenario documentation" section for other details.
For MRS related process, select AA0. That should give you a step by step guide as to how you can play around with the system.
Hope this helps you.
Best regards,
Harsha
