Dealer selling the vehicle to Consumer

hi experts,

I need to know how the data for Consumer Order( From Dealer) is mapped in Manufacturer's database for warranty validation.

Vehicle manufaturer selling to Dealer and inturn Dealer selling the vehicle to Consumer.

Can you also provide suitable document link.

Hi Chait,

As far as my knowledge goes, there is no direct link unless both the dealer and OEM are using the same system or the OEM is hosting dealers IT solutions.

In ideal cases, there would be interfaces developed between Dealers and OEM systems, which would do a synchronous / asynchronous data transmissions between these systems.

From OEM's point of view, the vehicles are dispatched to Dealers (This could also be treated as standard sales or consignment sales or any other way that the OEM wants it to), dealer would have his own processes to sell the vehicle to end customer. So, here this 2 folded. One transaction from OEM to Dealer and another from Dealer to Customer.

Based on the sale date of the vehicle from Dealer to end customer, the Warranty would be activated. Information from dealer is sent using Idocs / xI interfaces / data files, etc and the OEM receives such information and updates the same in its database.

There by, both the OEM and the DEALER are in SYNC with the sale process and the Warranty info.
