Availability Status in DBM

Hi Experts,

Greetings to all...
I wish to ask following question:
I performed following steps: There is no stock for a material and following actions are being performed:

1.   1. Create a PO for a material e.g. spare-parts with delivery date today or tomorrow
2. Open the job order
3. Go to parts tab
4. Click match-code button in the key
5. Search for the part “1AM09168-06018”
6. Observe the Availability Status (The Availability Status of the material is shown as Green)
7. Add the material in the line
8. Observe the Availability Status in the line (The Availability Status of the material is shown as Red)

I wanted to ask why the behaviour is different in step6 and step8. Is there any way such that the system will not consider the order stock while doing the availability check.

Regards,
UK.

Hi,

the material search only indicates if a material is currently on stock.

The availability check on parts tab checks as well future requirements/po...

During search i think i would like to see what is available currently that i can decide upon the correct material. Of course you can implement search help exit /DBM/_SHLP_EXIT_PART

Best regards

Robert
