Hi Shiv,

SAP for Auromotive has additional functionality like

iPPE - supporting the entire life cycle

Model Mix planning / Sequencing

Web enabled Kanban processing

Collaborative management of delivery schedules for suppliers (CMDS)

Just-in-time / Just-in-sequence Process (suppliers)

Web based Supplier integration

Supplier integration through workplace

Vendor managed inventory

Warranty claim processing

See [SAP for Automotive|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_dimp50/helpdata/EN/71/c16736de7ef76de10000009b38f839/frameset.htm].

Warranty is part of ECC, not IS-Automotive.

Another important extension of the SAP IS-Automotive is the long material number (LAMA).

In SAP Standard the material number has 18 places ( domain MATNR).

In SAP IS-Automotive, the material number has 40 places.

The precondition for the use of LAMA is that the component DIMP has to be activated.
