Actions as batch Job - VMS

Dear All,

We wish to update the status for a group of vehicles without going to the VMS > choosing the vehicles> choosing the action> and executing it.

I found the t codes: VELOB, & VELOV as indicative to meet my purpose.

As per my understanding VELOV is to be done first to create a variant and then VELOB with the requisite vehicles, as input, would update the status en masse.

However, the execution of VELOV itself is giving errors as it keeps responding "No variant is available". On creating a variant - by entering the desired action, and some more info a variant though is created - but while executing the VELOB, no such variant is available for execution. It appears the variant thus created was a SCREEN variant and the t code is looking for "some other" variant.

In an attempt to move on, I forced a table entry in the table involved in VELOV and achieved the execution of VELOB. But obviously that's not the right way the tcode is to be handled. this way I have bypassed VELOV and made a direct table entry whic is grossly inappropriate.

Would anybody kindly enlighten on how to go about executing the VELOV to meet our requirement.

Thanks and regards,

Tariq

Hi Tariq,

We have done VELOB and VELOE in different projects, depending on different occassions.

It is not must to go with VELOV in order to achieve status changes. Even the procesure that you have done helps resolve your status change.

Best regards,

Thanks but VELOE is a different stuff totally hence need not be mixed in the query here.

Moreover I am not keen to manually update a table first to execute a t code. This is not a right practice at all.

There must be something missing in my approach to use the VELOB and VELOV to which i seek a response, an advice.

Regards,

Tariq
