Marco, tell us about yourself.
Who are you, what do you like to do, what is important to you?
On 23.01.2025, the author proudly dons the color “SAP Blue Color” over his technical doublet as he explores the latest developments from SAP, artificial intelligence and machine learning in the digital landscape. With a clear focus on knowledge transfer and continuous engagement with the rapid advances in the world of technology, the author acts as a digital companion and information architect.
Marco Büscher, that's my name, and in a world that is constantly reinventing itself, I enjoy collecting and sharing knowledge and always thinking one step ahead. This is how my path led me to SAP, where my curiosity and relentless thirst for knowledge over the last 15 years has not only enabled me to develop a deep understanding of each module, but also to become certified in MM, FI, ABAP, SD and CO. This expertise forms the basis for my work as a consultant and technical architect in the world of business informatics, where I try to lead the way as a pioneer, provide guidance as a navigator and offer promising solutions as a creator in a complex and ever-changing landscape.
What is your area of expertise?
What does a usual day at work look like for you?
In my area of expertise, consulting in the SAP MM/SD/CO/FI modules and application development in ABAP, I am a navigator, pioneer and creator. As a navigator, I create transparency about everything that influences the journey and use this data to plan the fastest, safest route to the destination. It is not enough for me to know the destination in order to find the best route. In a figurative sense, the weather, currents, type of ship and crew must also be included in the planning in order to complete the journey in the best possible way. As a creator, exact planning and precision down to the last detail are particularly important to me. With my cross-industry experience, I assess the situation alone or in a team in order to implement sustainable and efficient ideas and act in a resource-saving manner My working day starts with a cup of coffee, followed by checking my emails. As a pioneer, I use my imagination to look to the future in my day-to-day work, which means I discover new things off the beaten track every day, often overcoming our comfort zones in the process. Lifelong learning and constant innovations such as AI, blockchain, 5G/6G and IOT characterize our industry. However, the planning of my daily tasks is often also shaped by the current situation. I work both independently and in a team, with weekly meetings with colleagues for coordination. I dedicate the majority of my day to working on work packages in customer projects.
What inspired you to become an SAP Champion in SAP Community?
My motivation to become an SAP Champion is based on my training experience. During this time, I acquired extensive knowledge of the SAP FI, CO, MM and SD modules as well as ABAP. The support of the SAP community helped me to overcome difficult challenges. These positive experiences deepened my interest and strengthened my desire to share my knowledge and help others. The SAP community provided me with solutions and exchange with professionals and motivates me to continue discovering innovative approaches.
How do you learn in SAP Community?
What is your daily/weekly routine in SAP Community?
I look here to find inspiration for solving problems or I check the Developer Center for new tutorials. It's also a place for me to find out the dates of interesting events such as SAP CodeJams.
From my point of view, the SAP community is interesting for three groups of readers.
A newcomer is faced with a multitude of terms in the SAP world. Without asking, the meaning of these terms remains unclear. What are the concepts behind these terms? How do they relate to each other? Are there any special features specific to SAP? How can he access relevant information?
Experts use technical terms to communicate quickly and avoid repetition. But what does an abbreviation mean in another specialist area? And is it understood there in the same way as in my field?
The presentation professional constantly needs new terms to impress his audience. If he presents these with appropriate emphasis and authority, his competence will not be called into question.
What is your suggestion to get the most out of SAP Community?
SAP S/4HANA, API, Idoc, Fiori or Buk, or BANF ... anyone who works in the SAP environment hears and uses a multitude of such terms every day. These are products, technical issues, acronyms, module abbreviations and many more things that are given complicated names or bumpy character strings. The SAP Community offers clarity here. The SAP Community is constantly updated. Continuous changes keep it up to date. Here you will always find the latest trends and information.
