Lluis, tell us about yourself.
Who are you, what do you like to do, what is important to you?
My name is Lluis, and I have been deeply involved in the SAP ecosystem for over two decades. My journey began 21 years ago as an ABAP developer at SEIDOR. Soon after, I was introduced to SAP Solution Manager and Support Services, which opened up an entirely new world for me.
What truly drives me is the continuous evolution of technology and the opportunity to collaborate with professionals who share the same passion for innovation. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring emerging technologies, sharing knowledge, and actively contributing to the SAP Community. However, the most important aspect of my professional journey has been the people I’ve met along the way—those with whom I’ve shared insights, solved complex challenges, and grown together.
What is your area of expertise?
What does a usual day at work look like for you?
My core expertise lies in SAP Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, Enable Now, Tricentis, and ServiceNow, complemented by deep knowledge of SAP support and partner processes. Over the years, I have specialized in bridging the gap between business needs and SAP’s evolving landscape, with a strong focus on change management, system monitoring, and solution integration.
A typical day for me involves overseeing SAP ALM implementations, managing support services, and guiding teams through change management processes. Additionally, I dedicate a significant amount of time to collaborating with colleagues and customers, helping them navigate the SAP ecosystem to identify the right solutions and integrations that align with their business objectives.
What inspired you to become an SAP Champion in SAP Community?
What has inspired me the most is the opportunity to be more connected with the SAP community, contribute even more to knowledge sharing, and support new colleagues and friends in the SAP ecosystem, online and offline.
How do you learn in SAP Community?
What is your daily/weekly routine in SAP Community?
Every day, I stay updated by exploring SAP forums and blog posts, keeping an eye on new discussions, troubleshooting advice, and the latest advancements in SAP Solution Manager or other products. Throughout the week, I actively engage in conversations, contribute to discussions where I can add value, and attend SAP webinars or virtual events to gain insights from industry leaders. On a regular basis, I participate in SAP Inside Track events, Stammtisch meet-ups, etc… to connect with professionals, and write blog posts to share my experiences and key learnings from complex projects.
What is your suggestion to get the most out of SAP Community?
My top recommendation for anyone looking to get the most out of the SAP Community is to share, share, and share without expecting anything in return. The more you contribute, the more you gain through feedback and engagement. The SAP Community is highly collaborative, with strong relationships among those who share their knowledge, by writing articles, posting updates, or helping others solve issues. This creates an incredible ecosystem of collaboration with some of the best experts in the field.
A question from Lluis to you:
One of the most enduring products in the entire SAP ecosystem has been SAP Solution Manager, a loyal companion to SAP Business Suite. Despite not having a direct impact on business operations, it has been with us for decades, constantly evolving.
Do you think the same will happen with Cloud ALM? Could it become a 'killer app' once fully integrated with AI-driven solutions? Share your thoughts in the comments.
