While using SAP Community I currently see frequently a 404 error returned from people.sap.com when clicking on the author name of a blog post, question or comment. Why is this happening? Has this something to do with GDPR coming into effect on May 25?

The reason for seeing the 404 error is that community members have been publishing content recently, but didn't give their explicit consent to show their profile publicly. Today, May 24 we are enabling the consent given prior to the GDPR launch, and the effect is that all members who haven't given public profile consent, don't have a public profile. people.sap.com return a 404 to indicate that this profile doesn't exist.
The next step, from a GDPR perspective for SAP Community, is to capture the public profile consent at login time. SAP Community is an open forum, which everybody can visit without authentication. But in order to contribute by asking a question or posting a comment, the contribution needs to be attributable to an existing member, and this requires a public profile for that member.
