Why are 5 words needed to delete a blog?

I was showing someone how to post a blog on SCN and, as a result, an empty draft was created. But when I try to delete it, I'm getting an error message that minimum 5 words are required. But why? I'm deleting the draft, what does it matter how many words it has? And the problem is that even if I just type "1 2 3 4 5" and try to save, I have to fill in the required fields too (such as tag etc.). All just to delete the draft.

Can this requirement be removed?

A simple oddity of the Wordpress version. (edit) This is unfortunately low on the priority list of items for us to address. So unfortunately yes we can but it will be awhile before we get there.
