Hi,
The person really inspired me is Mother Teresa.
Who founded the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata (Calcutta), India in 1950. For over 45 years she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying, while guiding the Missionaries of Charity's expansion, first throughout India and then in other countries. At the time of her death it was operating 610 missions in 123 countries. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 .
Here I would to like share two quotes of Teresa, with my SCN freinds..,
Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing. & I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.
Thanks,
Naveen Inuganti.

Mine... The forgotten hero... Bhagat Singh, At the age of 23, he took on the people who snatched the independence of his country with sheer brave, intellectuality and determination. He sacrificed his life thinking that is going to bring change in the whole independence movement. Though, the whole country then saw an different way of fighting for independence and was up for it, But It could not survive very long. Thats the most awful part of his sacrifice.

Wife and kids. And the father of a good friend of mine. Who sadly died (the father) of Mesothelioma seven years ago. The cancer was caused by asbestos exposure, which normally attracts an automatic quite large compensation package. Only the British government changed the law 20 years ago, so that if you were exposed to asbestos while in government service, you didn't get a penny. Which was nice of them.

btw - is the opposite of "inspire", "expire"?.
My DAD..
I want to give a word of Thankfulness to my Dad.Who Inspired me by his way of Trust,Belief,Confidence,Love,Care and Generosity..I never thought in my life that i will become a SAP consultant or even a some position in IT.I was just strolling without any scope or Goal after my degree..I just learnt everything from 3D Studio Max to Mainframe to SAP ..& he gave me all the support from money to words..never asked me a question like why you are doing ?? where is the money?? and that is the trust & belief he had in his son..he asked me to go & stay away from home he thought only then i can concentrate..he was supporting me all through my hard days without any fuss..whatever thing i needed..he gave me without any question even during his hard days. And i think even i didnt have that confidence on myself as my dad had on me.The place now i stand is purely because of my DAD(next to my God).
Thank You DAD..
Cheers
Andrew

Actually the answer comes from my heart, which I can ocassionally wear exposed in the Coffee Corner I guess even though I risk being made fun of shamelessly.
My father died in 2005 and he inspired me my whole life as a man of near perfect integrity for over 50 years, taught me about unconditional generosity of spirit or at least demonstrated his. Was a role model to dream to be. I only know my husband 35 years but with a more adult perspective. My husband gave me a sense of activism, appreciation for critique, helped tutor intellectual curiosity, influenced my artistic taste.
Different things to aspire to and be inspired by.
I should really do a look up of all the other names although Robert Smith will be problematic
Obviously Mr.Abdul Kalam

Thanks for the clarifications. As I don't watch much any TV, I forgot about Stewie. Well family guy, fits right in with a "before your time American Hero" Archie Bunker. So we can all take a gentle poke at ourselves and our "family values" when thinking of these characters. I'm still holding to the two older men in my life that I nominated although my egalitarian self would love to also have placed a female figure and I mentally added some of the younger folks that inspire me because they got left out in my choosing as well. But we were tasked with choosing only one. And thus some of us choose that which is a stretch from who we are. For many reasons, I guess I'll never be my father or my husband. Some might think I'm my mother already.
Happy Friday.
