Interesting thread.
I was involved in a 4.0b tot 4.7 upgrade in 2006.
And an SRM3.0 upgrade to 5.0 in the middle of 2007.
After that most systems I worked on were fairly up to date.
Well apart from my previous contract where they were on ECC but on an extremely low support package, which caused a lot of workflow issues and bapis not working.
Cheers, Rob.

Hi
I've found going back in time to an older system to be 'fun' in some parts - not quite gone back to activity groups but does have that radio valves feel now and then...that and seeing 12 years of naming conventions for custom tcodes and roles.
That and the sheer number of custom codes and bdc's built...certainly not vanilla
Regards
David

That almost sounds like the same customer I was talking about. The vast amount of customization (and yes, including BDCs) was a major factor in their implementing a brand new dinosaur system.
I knew something was amiss on my first day when I walked past a server room and saw [these things|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_tape_data_storage#Open_reels] rather nostalgically [hanging around|http://etherealmind.com/data-centre-tape-rack-half-inch/].
